Ukraine will officially contact South Korea with a request for military assistance – we are talking about artillery, air defense systems and more. However, President Vladimir Zelensky does not know whether Seoul will agree to this.
He said this in an interview with the South Korean TV channel KBS.
Putin is testing the world’s reaction by using North Korean troops in Ukraine. Right now it’s zero, so he could bring in even more troops in the future, the president said.
North Korean soldiers have not yet seen combat, but Zelensky sees this as a matter of days, not months. In Ukraine they will gain real experience of modern warfare, and this is a threat to South Korea and the whole world.
North Korea may send engineering troops and civilians to military factories in Russia. For now this is just being discussed.
Decisions on North Korea’s response will be made after the combat use of North Korean soldiers in Ukraine. Zelensky did not rule out appealing to the International Criminal Court.
