The United States and its partners are looking for ways to expedite the arms transfer process for Ukraine’s needs.
Weapons coming to Ukraine from partners are already influencing the course of the battle on its territory. This was announced on Monday, July 4, by the former Special Representative of the United States of America to Ukraine, Kurt Volker, on the air of an informational telethon.
Weapon systems and ammunition from the United States are coming, but not all have arrived yet. This is already affecting the course of the war, like the successful attacks on ammunition depots we have seen in recent days. It will continue. It puts the Russians in a weaker position, ”he said.
According to Volker, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be able to liberate more settlements when new weapons systems come to the fore.
“In fact, there are already a lot of Western weapons in Ukraine. Javelins, Stingers, howitzers and so on. But now we are talking about new systems – HIMARS and NASAMS. They are not coming yet, but they are coming,” he said. .
When asked by a journalist if it was possible to receive new equipment in July and August, Volker replied in the affirmative.
“Lend-lease is a special way for the US administration to use its own stocks and transfer them to Ukraine, while transferring them quickly. It is a process that has been going on for a long time. We are transferring systems to Ukraine and buy new ones to replace them. The United States and its partners are looking for ways to speed up this process, “said the former US Special Representative to Ukraine.
It was previously reported that American NASAMS will strengthen Ukraine’s air defense. Kyiv is continuing negotiations with partners on the acquisition of other modern weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the head of state said.
Recall that after returning from Kyiv, Olaf Scholz was criticized by his own coalition for the fact that during the visit he did not make any promises of providing heavy weapons.
