The Vilnius office of the International Organization for Migration will provide a one-time payment to newly arrived refugees from Ukraine.
Lithuania will provide a one-time payment in the amount of 176 euros to newly arrived refugees from Ukraine. The LRT announced this on Wednesday, October 30.
The Vilnius office of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) noted that currently the number of Ukrainian refugees arriving in the country has decreased, but Lithuania receives several dozen Ukrainians every week.
“And they, of course, need financial help first of all, therefore, we will give vulnerable war refugees a one-time payment for the most necessary expenses,” said the head of IOM in Lithuania, Eitvydas Bingelis.
Support will be provided to citizens of Ukraine or third countries who arrived in Lithuania for the first time from Ukraine and crossed the external border of the European Union no earlier than 40 calendar days ago.
Assistance will be provided to single parents or guardians arriving with one or more children under 18 years of age, families with three or more children under 18 years of age, disabled families who children under 18 years of age (support will be provided to children and adults), pregnant women, people over 60 years of age and older, as well as people with disabilities.
