The transfer of ambulances took place as part of the NATO Comprehensive Assistance Package (CAP) in Ukraine.
In response to a request for urgent needs from Ukraine, NATO transferred 65 ambulances to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This was reported by the NATO office in Ukraine on Tuesday, October 29.
The transfer of vehicles took place within the framework of the NATO Comprehensive Assistance Package (CAP) to Ukraine.
It was noted that the Comprehensive NATO Assistance Package to Ukraine is the main framework for practical cooperation between the Alliance and Ukraine. The updated CAP was adopted at the Madrid Summit in 2022.
During the Vilnius Summit in July 2023, the Allies agreed to transform the CAP into a multi-year program of NATO support to Ukraine in accordance with short, medium and long-term needs.
At the 2024 Washington Summit, the Allies announced commitments to long-term security assistance to Ukraine and plans to provide €40 billion in funding next year.
Recently, NATO equipped ambulance buses to the hospitals of the State Border Guard Service and the Novosibirsk State University.
Earlier, the South Korean government transferred 10 emergency medical vehicles to Ukraine’s Ministry of Health.
The UAE also donated 50 ambulances to Ukraine to support the country’s medical infrastructure.
