The Romanian Ministry of Defense has prepared a draft law that would allow the shooting down of drones that violate the country’s airspace.
At the same time, the measures proposed by the project are gradual: from establishing the location and identification of the aircraft to attempts at contact, interception and warning shots.
Unauthorized manned aircraft can only be destroyed if they attack or react aggressively to interception.
Unmanned aerial vehicles, most often drones, can be destroyed, neutralized or controlled depending on the level of threat. Destruction is a last resort.
Allied systems located in Romania can also participate in any activities under collective defense treaties with NATO and EU members.
