The supersonic jet can fly passengers from Beijing to New York in about two hours.

A Chinese company says it has flown a prototype commercial transport aircraft that can fly at Mach 4, twice the speed of the Concorde jet. SCMP reported this on Tuesday, October 29.

Space Transportation said its Yunxing prototype successfully completed its test flight.

The company, also known as Lingkong Tianxing Technology, said further testing of the aircraft’s engine technology will take place in November.

The goal of the tests is to create a full-size supersonic passenger aircraft that will be ready to make its first flight in 2027.

According to its developer, the supersonic jet can fly passengers from Beijing to New York in about two hours.

The last known supersonic civil aircraft was the Concorde, developed by French and British aerospace companies. It began operating in 1976, traveling at twice the speed of sound, until it was decommissioned in 2003.

Let’s remember that earlier in China they successfully tested the world’s largest cargo drone.

We previously reported that Chinese and Russian companies are jointly developing an attack drone similar to the Iranian Shahed kamikaze drone.
