Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky visited units and units participating in the defense operation in the Zaporozhye region.
Combat operations of varying intensity continue on this part of the front. The enemy uses attack and bomber aircraft, drones of all types in combination with artillery and mortar fire.
In such conditions, our main task is to strengthen the defense of troops in the most difficult sectors of the front and ensure maximum stability of the defense line.
Syrsky writes that he met with the brigade commanders and analyzed in detail the situation in the combat areas, the state of supply of units with ammunition, UAVs and electronic warfare equipment.
Particular attention was paid to preparations for defensive actions in the autumn-winter period. Measures were taken to provide the units with additional weapons, equipment and everything necessary,” the commander-in-chief wrote.
In the last few weeks, the situation in the Zaporozhye direction has become much hotter. The Russians are throwing more and more forces into assault operations on this section of the front.
The Russian army wedged itself into the defense of Ukrainian troops in Levadne in Zaporozhye. The Russian army has had partial success, and the defense forces are now carrying out stabilization measures to restore positions.
The second and third lines of defense are being built around the Zaporozhye region, said the head of the OBA, Ivan Fedorov.
The first task that was provided by the military was completed in mid-summer. We continue, together with the military, to build the second, third lines and defenses of the cities of the Zaporozhye region,” Fedorov said during the telethon.
He added that the main goal of these measures is to make the region a “fortress.”
Fedorov noted that if previously the main task of fortifications was to provide protection from guided bombs and artillery, today it is also important to protect against FPV drones, so anti-drone nets and similar solutions are needed.
He also said that the second line of fortifications is almost complete, and the third line will be ready in the coming weeks. The defense of individual cities under construction will also be completed within the time frame established by the General Staff.
