Law enforcement officials detained a “very militant person” who hates Robert Fico for his position on Ukraine.
There was a second attempt on the life of Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico. He said this in an interview with the Standard published on Monday, October 28.
According to Fico, the incident took place on October 6 in the city of Dukla, where he traveled to celebrate the anniversary of the Carpathian-Dukla operation in World War II.
“We captured a very militant man who hates me for my position towards Ukraine. He had a weapon, fortunately he didn’t go to the place where we politicians were, but went to the place where there were a lot of people. There he went through the metal detector frame, it was discovered that he had a fully loaded pistol,” Fico said.
And recalling the first attempt on his life, which took place in May in the city of Gandlova, Fico said that he was “very lucky” then.
We remind you that on May 15, Robert Fico survived an assassination attempt. 71-year-old Juraj Cintula shot several times the Prime Minister of Slovakia after the government’s retreat in Handlov.
Fico was seriously injured and appeared in public for the first time only in July. The Slovak government said that after surviving the assassination attempt, the prime minister will have permanent health problems.
