EU working on new package of sanctions – journalists

The seventh package could be approved earlier this month. It may not affect Russia’s gas, but it will include an embargo on gold imports from the Russian Federation.

The EU is expected to agree on a seventh package of sanctions against Russia and Belarus by the end of July. This was announced on Monday, July 4, by the European editor of Radio Liberty Rikard Jozwiak in Twitter.

“The EU is trying to agree on a seventh package of sanctions against the Russian Federation before the summer holidays begin at the end of July,” the report said.

According to Jozwiak, some holes will be closed here, as well as the embargo on gold imports. However, this may not include sanctions on gas exports from Russia.

Earlier, Ukraine submitted proposals to the European Union on the seventh package of sanctions against Russia. Kyiv insisted on the adoption of new restrictions as soon as possible.

As reported, the seventh European Union sanctions package against Russia for its invasion of Ukraine is expected by the end of the summer.
