Shooting at the US Independence Parade

Law enforcement suggests the culprit fired from the roof of one of the buildings. A rifle was found at the scene.

In the town of Highland Park near Chicago, Illinois, USA, an unknown gunman opened fire at the U.S. Independence Day parade. On Monday, July 4, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

Six people were reported killed in the shooting and 16 others were injured. According to local media, the gunman fired 10 minutes after the parade started.

According to witnesses, the unidentified man quickly fired from 20 to 25 shots. A gun was found at the scene of the incident, and police are looking for the attacker.

The suspect was described as “a white man aged 18-20 wearing a white or blue T-shirt.”

Authorities canceled all festival events and urged residents to avoid the city center.
