A massive attack by Russian drones was repelled by the Ukrainian military today.
On the night of October 26, the enemy attacked Ukraine with various types of missiles, Shahed-type attack UAVs and drones of an unknown type. In total, Ukrainian radio technical troops accompanied 98 air attack weapons. The Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported this on October 26 in Telegram.
In general, the enemy used:
- three Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles from occupied Crimea;
- two X-59 guided aircraft missiles from the Bryansk region of Russia;
- two missiles of unknown type from the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation;
- 91 drones from Russian Kursk and Orel.
Aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Force and the Defense Forces of Ukraine were involved in repelling the attack from the air.
Enemy missiles hit civilian infrastructure in the Sumy and Dnieper regions. Civilians died.
As of 12:00, 44 drones were known to have been shot down in the Kirovograd, Sumy, Chernigov, Kyiv, Cherkassy, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytsky and Kursk regions. One of the Shaheds flew to Belarus, and another 44 were lost. Another enemy UAV was in Ukrainian airspace.
Let us remind you that on the night of October 26, Russia launched a missile attack on the Dnieper. A two-story residential building and a garage were completely destroyed. 13 apartment buildings and two private houses, 30 cars were damaged. The hospital named after Ilya Mechnikov also experienced damage. The attack killed four and injured 20 more.
