After the closure of the Russian consulate in Poznan, the head of the Polish Foreign Ministry began talking about the expulsion of the Russian ambassador.
Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski is not ruling out the expulsion of Russian Ambassador Sergei Andreev. This will be possible with the new sabotage in Moscow. The head of the Polish Foreign Ministry announced this on Tuesday, October 22, on TVP Info.
“If we expel the ambassador, of course, they will do it has not happened yet, but if the sabotage continues, it cannot be eliminated,” said Sikorsky.
He noted that Russia is carrying out hybrid attacks against Poland – this involves the spread of disinformation, cyber attacks on government agencies and Polish companies, illegal crossing of the Polish border and sabotage throughout country.
Sikorsky also recalled that Poland had already introduced restrictions on the movement of Russian diplomats throughout the country. In particular, embassy staff in Warsaw may only travel within the Masovian Voivodeship, and consuls may only travel within the Voivodeship in which they hold a post. This is necessary to make it more difficult for them to act in ways incompatible with their diplomatic status.
Earlier on Tuesday, Sikorski announced that the Russian Consulate General in Poznan was closing. He explained this by saying that Russia is waging a hybrid war and trying to sabotage Polish territory.
Let’s recall that last year, employees of the Polish Internal Security Agency detained six Russian agents who were preparing to sabotage railways.
