At the meeting, a list of decisions was identified that would “restore justice.” The President has approved them through the corresponding order.
President Vladimir Zelensky held a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine, where he reviewed the situation with the medical and social expert commissions (MSEC) and abuses by officials of various bodies of government resulting in disability. The press service of the head of state reported this on Tuesday, October 22.
Thus, the head of the SBU Vasily Malyuk and the Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Klimenko reported on inspections and investigations of criminal offenses. According to them, there are many facts of abuse and false disability by officials.
Prime Minister Denis Shmygal, Minister of Health of Ukraine Viktor Lyashko and Minister of Social Policy Oksana Zholnovych informed about the measures to be taken at the government level.
Particular attention is paid to the situation in the system of the prosecutor’s office of Ukraine. Prosecutor General Andrei Kostin reported on this.
“The National Security and Defense Council has identified a list of decisions that will restore justice and President Vladimir Zelensky has approved them through a corresponding decree,” the message said.
We are talking about the digitization of the processes of passing all stages of medical and social expert commissions, a thorough review of the declarations of MSEC members, as well as unfounded decisions on the disability of officials and their revision, and an audit of the corresponding pension accruals.
Legislative changes are also expected for the immediate reform of the medical and social examination system in Ukraine and a revision of the system and mechanism for calculating pension payments to government officials.
Zelensky noted that the responsibility for the situation should be personal. He ordered Shmygal to solve the problem at the level of central executive authorities, including related ministries, and emphasized that personnel decisions were needed.
In addition, Vladimir Zelensky said that the prosecutor general should have political responsibility for the situation in the prosecutor’s office of Ukraine.
We remind you that during the searches, the head of the MSEC in the Khmelnitsky region and his relatives were found to have $6 million in cash and many other assets.
President Vladimir Zelensky said that charges of corruption in the work of MSEC will be addressed. In particular, personnel changes are expected.
