Interior Minister Denis Monastyrsky stressed that the curfew is not a whim, but a security issue, it is a necessary step to combat enemy sabotage groups.
Internal Affairs Minister Denis Monastyrsky considers it necessary to introduce administrative liability for breach of the curfew. He said this on the air of the telethon on Monday, July 4th.
“Not everyone complies with the curfew, and it’s a question for our legislators to establish proper responsibility for the violation. The issue is about administrative accountability,” he said.
Monastyrsky stressed that the curfew is not a whim, but a security issue, it is a step necessary to combat enemy sabotage groups.
Currently, the Code of Administrative Offenses does not provide liability for violation of the curfew, the penalty is only possible for refusal to comply with a legal order or requirements of a patrol. The draft law on the introduction of appropriate changes to the code was registered in parliament in May, but has not yet been adopted.
Recall that on the night of July 3, a 10-kilometer traffic jam formed at the entrance to Kyiv from Boryspil. Vehicles are not allowed in the city due to the curfew.
