The Russian military shot two captured Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers near the Selidovy Pokrovsky district of the Donetsk region.
The press service of the Office of the Prosecutor General reported this today, October 21.
It is noted that the military was captured on October 18 at 14:38.
The occupiers, who stormed a forest plantation near the town of Selidovo, laid unarmed prisoners of war face down. They held them in this position, pressing them to the ground with their feet, and after a while they shot them at point-blank range with automatic weapons, the department said.
The Office of the Prosecutor General notes that the murder of prisoners of war is a gross violation of the Geneva Conventions and is classified as a serious international crime. A pre-trial criminal investigation has been launched into violation of the laws and customs of war, coupled with premeditated murder (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code).
