Ukraine relies on the help of partner countries in the release of prisoners, the president said.
The aggressor country Russia is still illegally detaining thousands of Ukrainian citizens. Our citizens are suffering torture, humiliation and hunger in Russian prisons and camps, President Vladimir Zelensky said on Facebook on Monday, October 21.
“We managed to bring home 3,767 Ukrainians and Ukrainian women. Almost all of them need long-term treatment and rehabilitation.
According to Zelensky, Ukraine relies on the help of partner countries in this regard, especially criticizing the Vatican.
“Together with everyone in the world who respects human life, we must do everything to free each other and we all count on the help of the Vatican and all our partners!”
We remind you that on October 19, 95 defenders returned to Ukraine. Of these, 48 were illegally sentenced in the Russian Federation to long term or life imprisonment.
It was also reported that Maxim Butkevich, a human rights activist, journalist, public figure and military man, was released from Russian captivity.
