The head of state spoke about the results of the meeting with French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrault.
France supported the Ukrainian plan for victory in the war with Russia. President Vladimir Zelensky said this in an evening video message on Saturday, October 19.
The head of state said that today he met with French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot and called this meeting “exactly what we need.”
“I thank France, President Macron, the entire French society for supporting Ukraine, our defense… We cooperate fruitfully for the sake of defense, and politically, and for the sake of our greater stability of Ukraine and of our whole Europe. I thank France for supporting the Victory Plan, points that can really bring real diplomacy and a just world closer,” said Zelensky.
He added that he was grateful to France for working with Ukraine’s other partners “to have a common vision – a vision that only an honest end to the war can really guarantee a reliable peace.”
We remind you that on October 16, Vladimir Zelensky announced the Victory Plan. His first point was the immediate invitation of Ukraine to NATO.
The day before it became known that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz rejected the main points of the Victory Plan.
The United States is still discussing the details of the Victory Plan, but it already generally supports the initiative.
