Ukraine will receive a new tranche of more than a billion dollars from the International Monetary Fund.
The IMF Executive Board approved the fifth revision of the EFF program. A new tranche in the amount of about $1.1 billion. will be used to cover important budgetary expenses of a non-military nature. Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmigal announced this on Telegram.
Also, during the revision, the tranche schedule for 2025 was optimized, thanks to which we will attract more resources to the state budget. “I thank the Fund for its continued consistent support for the financial stability of Ukraine,” the Prime Minister emphasized.
The updated memorandum states that the IMF has increased its funding to Ukraine in 2025 by almost $880 million. Previously, the Fund planned to allocate $1.835 billion to Ukraine in 2025. in two tranches of 917.5 million dollars. in March and August.
And now it is planned to allocate $2.712 billion. in four tranches: in March 917.5 million, in June – 809.6 million, in August – 539.8 million, and in December – 445.3 million.
Let us remind you that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will reduce its commissions that affect the cost of resources for countries that have IMF financing programs.
For Ukraine, the annual costs of using the Fund’s resources will be reduced by 130 million. This will help the state save 650-700 million dollars. in the next five years.
