On the morning of Friday, October 18, after the incident in St. Michael’s Cathedral in Cherkassy, police officers recorded 20 statements from citizens about injuries and damages, but no victims were hospitalized. This was reported by the Communications Department of the National Police of Ukraine.
“Yesterday morning there was a conflict on the territory of St. Michael’s Cathedral between groups of citizens. At 08:00 on October 18, 24 citizens filed statements with the police, of which 20 reported that received bodily injuries of various kinds none of the victims were hospitalized,” – noted in the NPU.
Currently, law enforcement officials are identifying all participants in the incident.
As part of open criminal proceedings under the Hooliganism article (Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code), under the procedural guidance of the Cherkasy District Prosecutor’s Office, investigative actions are carried out, and video recordings published on social networks are also done. studied.

Later, military chaplain Vladimir Ridny announced the transfer of the cathedral to OCU with the community, but without priests. This building will be a garrison temple, open to all Ukrainian military personnel.
