In Ukraine, tomorrow, October 18, there are no plans to apply electricity consumption limitation schedules.
The press service of Ukrenergo reports this.
“Tomorrow, Friday, no measures to limit consumption are planned,” the company noted.
At the same time, Ukrainians are urged to use powerful electrical appliances during the most productive period of solar power plants – from 10.00 to 16.00.
Ukrenergo notes that the share of solar power plants in the overall energy balance of Ukraine has increased significantly in recent years for two reasons:
- the shares of other types of generation decreased due to the consequences of Russian shelling;
- The total capacity of installed solar panels (industrial and domestic) has increased.
In response to Russian energy terror, a significant number of households and businesses have installed solar panels. Therefore, at the same temperature on a sunny day, consumption is now significantly lower than on a cloudy day – the owners of “rooftop solar power plants” provide their own needs,” the company notes.
It is noted that the generation of electricity by solar power plants is significantly influenced by weather:
- The cloudier the day, the fewer rays reach the surface of the solar panels. The efficiency of SES operation in clear and cloudy weather may differ several times. For the same reason and due to the different lengths of daylight hours, there is a repeated difference in the performance of SES in summer and winter;
- Even on a clear summer day, the efficiency of solar panels is significantly lower than nominal if the air temperature is high. SES generation losses due to heat are about 5%.
