The Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces showed footage of the work of Ukrainian sky defenders on German IRIS-T air defense systems.
As the PS noted, this German system is capable of destroying all aerodynamic targets within a radius of up to 40 km.
In addition, this is a modern anti-aircraft missile system of the Air Force.
IRIS-T has been in service with Ukraine since October 2022. These SAMs and NASAMS are the first Western medium-range anti-aircraft missile systems to begin protecting Ukraine’s critical infrastructure from massive Russian attacks.
As the air force noted, Ukraine now has many batteries of these air defense systems, which are gradually coming into service and are gradually replacing the morally and physically obsolete Soviet-made systems.
On October 11, it became known that Germany would provide military assistance to Ukraine in the amount of 600 million euros. The package includes the fifth IRIS-T SLM system, infantry fighting vehicles, tanks, self-propelled artillery, artillery shells and drones. Also, by the end of 2024, Ukraine receives another package of 1.4 billion euros from Germany, Belgium, Denmark and Norway.
