The Secretary General of NATO invited President Vladimir Zelensky to NATO headquarters, where a meeting of the Alliance’s defense ministers will take place on October 17. The press secretary of the North Atlantic Alliance, Farah Dakhlalla, wrote about this on Wednesday , October 16, on the social network X.
“The Secretary General of NATO will receive the President of Ukraine Zelensky at NATO headquarters during the meeting of NATO defense ministers,” said a spokesperson for the Alliance.
He added that the Ukrainian president will take part in the press conference.
It is expected that at the meeting of NATO defense ministers, the participants of the event will discuss the needs of Ukraine at the front. The issue of Ukrainian military training and the allocation of 40 billion euros of military aid to Ukraine will also be discussed.
“The NATO allies have given Ukraine 20.9 billion euros in military aid in the first half of 2024 and the allies are fulfilling their obligations until the end of the year,” Rutte previously stressed.
NATO developed the NSATU mission to support Ukraine. The headquarters are located in Germany, Poland and Romania.
