The North Korean General Staff has ordered artillery units near the border and units conducting critical fire missions to be fully combat ready.
North Korea has put its artillery units on full alert along the border with South Korea and strengthened its air defense. Such measures were allegedly taken due to the possible penetration of South Korean drones. The South Korean agency Yonhap reported this on the evening of Monday, October 14.
According to him, the General Staff of the Korean People’s Army has issued a preliminary operational order to artillery units near the border and units that conduct important fire missions to be fully prepared for battle.
The Operational Readiness Order stated that “eight artillery brigades, fully armed to wartime standards, must be put on alert at 8:00 pm on October 13, and various operational security projects must be completed. “
The DPRK General Staff also ordered units at all levels to prepare detailed countermeasures should South Korean UAVs attempt to cross the border again.
North Korea previously said South Korea had launched drones in the direction of Pyongyang three times and threatened to use force if such flights were repeated. At the same time, the South Korean military said that they “cannot confirm” the facts of such flights.
We remind you that North Korea is threatening a “terrible catastrophe” due to the alleged flight of South Korean drones over Pyongyang. In response, South Korea warned that North Korea would see “the end of its regime” if it caused any harm to its people.
Relations between South Korea and the DPRK are reportedly at their lowest point in decades as the DPRK seeks to develop its nuclear and missile capabilities and moves toward cutting ties with South Korea.
