Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has pledged to reduce illegal migration to the country “to zero.”
Poland intends to temporarily suspend the right to grant asylum. This is what Prime Minister Donald Tusk said, reports Bild on Saturday, October 12.
According to him, this will be part of the new migration strategy. “I will ask that this decision be recognized in Europe,” Tusk stressed.
At the Civic Coalition party conference, the prime minister said the authorities should restore full control over those entering Poland and the European Union.
“We will reduce illegal immigration to Poland to a minimum,” Tusk announced.
The tough new plan will be presented to Cabinet early next week.
In addition, Tusk criticized Brussels, which has threatened not to abide by the EU’s migration deal if Poland’s security is endangered.
The suspension will only apply to illegal attempts by migrants to cross the border from Belarus. So, it will not affect Ukrainians fleeing Poland from the war.
We remind you that Sweden plans to pay migrants about 34 thousand dollars for voluntarily leaving the country and returning to their homeland. Germany continues land border controls over migrants.
