The Ukrainian Defense Forces control about 40-50% of the territory of Toretsk in the Donetsk region.
The remaining territories are already occupied by Russian troops. The Ukrainian Armed Forces still hold positions in the village, despite the invaders’ attempts to capture it completely. Over the past 24 hours, the Russians have been unable to advance in the city. The head of the Toretsk city military administration, Vasily Chinchik, stated this during the telethon.
The soldiers made every effort to prevent the enemy from succeeding. As of yesterday, not a single advance has been recorded, not a single position has been captured, not a single house, either a residential building or a critical infrastructure facility on the territory of the community,” he noted.
According to him, the Russians are making every effort to completely capture the city as soon as possible. Meanwhile, the authorities are trying to evacuate civilians, although this is very difficult. Yesterday, only seven people were evacuated from the community. There are now about 1 thousand 150 people left in Toretsk.
Let us recall that on October 8, the Ukrainian command announced that Russian occupiers had entered the eastern outskirts of Toretskaya in the Donetsk region. Heavy fighting continues in the city – Ukrainian defenders are fighting with the invaders for every entrance. The enemy tried to advance along Central Street in the direction of the mine of the same name.
