Ukraine does not consider the possibility of a ceasefire in exchange for guarantees from the Western alliance.
President Vladimir Zelensky announced this at a press briefing after a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Elysee Palace.
“This is not the subject of our discussions, there is no stopping, we do not want to talk about it.” said the head of state.
He added that he expects help from France, as Ukraine is experiencing a lack of equipment.
Another topic of conversation with Macron was the permission to use “some ammunition at long distances.”
“Now we don’t have enough of our drones for long distances, so we are looking for funds for domestic production, as well as some permission from our partners,” concluded Zelensky.
As you know, the Italian publication Corriere della Sera wrote that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky is allegedly “ready for a ceasefire” along the front line without recognizing the new official border with Russia in return for security guarantees from the United States and accelerated accession to the European Union.
Earlier, the Advisor to the Head of the Presidential Office, Mikhail Podolyak, said that there are no concepts of “territory in exchange for security guarantees” or other “bargain formats” to end Russia’s war against Ukraine .
