Russia is deceitfully recruiting 18-year-old African, Latina and Asian women to gather “martyrs.”
Associated Press reports.
Due to advertising on social networks, young foreign women were promised a free flight, financial assistance and an internship in Europe if they passed a Russian language test. However, upon arrival in Tatarstan, the women learned that their job would be to gather “martyrs” for the war against Ukraine.
The agency’s investigation revealed that about 200 African women work in drone production in Tatarstan, along with Russian vocational school students, who are on average 16-18 years old. The Kremlin is actively recruiting women from African and Asian countries to overcome labor shortages during the war, AP writes.
A recruitment program called Alabuga Start is being heavily promoted in Africa, South America and Asia, promising young women “career opportunities.” However, experts believe that young women are chosen because they are easier to control.
