About 60 aircraft from 13 NATO member countries will take part in the annual Steadfast Noon nuclear exercise.
NATO will begin its annual nuclear exercise Steadfast Noon on Monday, October 14. This was announced by Alliance Secretary General Mark Rutte in London, reports European Truth on Thursday, October 10.
F-35A fighters and B-52 bombers are among about 60 aircraft from 13 countries that will take part in the exercise.
Stable Noon will last for about two weeks. Training will focus specifically on the UK, the North Sea, as well as Belgium and the Netherlands.
“In an uncertain world, it is very important that we test our defenses and strengthen them so that our adversaries know that NATO is ready and able to respond to any threat,” Rutte said.
The training does not include the use of military weapons. But the roughly 2,000 troops participating in the exercise will simulate missions in which warplanes carry US nuclear warheads
Let’s recall that NATO countries located in eastern Europe increased their defense spending to unprecedented levels after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
