The surge in donations helped Kamala Harris quickly surpass the amount raised by Donald Trump’s campaign.
Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign has raised $1 billion since entering the presidential race in late July. CNN reported this citing a source.
Since Harris replaced President Joe Biden in the race on July 21, funds have been flowing into his campaign and Democratic Party coffers at an unprecedented rate. So, in just one month of entering the race, the Harris campaign raised $500 million.
It is noted that this money reflects the enthusiasm of donors preparing for the election and will be used for advertising, operations in the states where the races will take place, as well as the staff of Harris headquarters.
The influx of donations helped Harris quickly surpass the amount raised by Donald Trump’s campaign. His team announced that it had raised about $430 million in the Republican Party in three months, from early July to late September.
It will be recalled that after the debate Harris increased his lead over Trump to 5%. The debate between Trump and Harris took place on September 10. According to a CNN poll, 63% of respondents believed that Harris won the debate.
