The invaders are trying to advance on Toretsk, Donetsk region, from its southern and southeastern outskirts, as well as advancing in the areas of the settlements of New York and Nelipovka. The spokesman of the National Guard of Ukraine, Ruslan Muzychuk, reported this on the air Suspilne Novyny.
“The enemy is trying to conduct offensive operations, trying to increase the “gray zone” around the city of Toretsk itself and populated areas, in particular, these are attempts to undercut the logistics routes of fire control and the areas where the enemy is trying to advance, especially near the densely populated area of New York and trying to advance near the village of Nelipovka,” the officer said.
According to him, the Russians are trying to control the logistics routes near Toretsk itself, thus expanding the so-called “gray zone.”
Attempts at enemy offensive actions were stopped by units of the defense forces, including the 12th Special Forces Brigade Azov National Guard.
During the attacks, the invaders tried to operate both in small groups of infantry and to use armored vehicles.
Last week, both under the direction of Pokrovsky and Toretsky, soldiers of the National Guard destroyed more than 10 units of various armored vehicles that the enemy tried to use to strengthen their attacks: tanks and infantry fighting vehicle.
