Prosecutor General Andrei Kostin dismissed his deputy Dmitry Verbitsky from the prosecutor’s office, who was found to have 29 million UAH of unsubstantiated wealth.
Also, the Office of the Prosecutor General completed an internal investigation into the illegal enrichment of Verbitsky, and the results were sent to NABU. Prosecutor General Kostin told Public about this.
We would like to remind you that during lifestyle monitoring, the NACP discovered undeclared property with a total value of UAH 29 million from the former deputy prosecutor general.
Most of the property was acquired by persons related to him under his power of attorney. After this information was made public, the Prosecutor General dismissed Verbitsky from the post of his deputy.
On July 1, Prosecutor General Andrei Kostin signed the corresponding order to dismiss Dmitry Verbitsky at his own request.
Earlier, “Schemes” journalists found out that Deputy Prosecutor General Verbitsky settled in a house in the capital’s elite cottage town “Konik”, which his nephew purchased by proxy from an Odessa businessman for more than 2 million hryvnia, which, according to market prices, is undervalued by 6 times. And Verbitsky’s girlfriend Kristina Ilnitskaya in 2024 acquired luxury property worth at least 52 million hryvnia and a Porsche Macan T worth 100 thousand dollars, without having sufficient official income of her own for this.
Verbitsky is the Deputy Prosecutor General, who, in particular, was responsible for issues related to combating economic crimes, tax evasion, and investment protection.
