Among the leaders in the amount of sowing of winter crops for grain are the farmers of the Ternopil region, Volyn, Poltava and Cherkasy regions.
Ukrainian farmers have sown 3.8 million hectares of winter crops. Winter grains were sown in all regions in total, about 2.9 million hectares were sown. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy on Tuesday, October 8.
Winter rapeseed was sown in 986.4 thousand hectares.
In particular:

winter wheat – 2.6 million hectares,

winter barley – 208.7 thousand hectares,

winter rye – 45.9 thousand hectares,

winter rapeseed – 986.4 thousand hectares.

So, among the leaders in the amount of sowing of winter crops for grain, the farmers of the Ternopil region are ahead – 165.8 thousand hectares (84.2%), Volyn – 127.5 thousand hectares (77%), Poltava region – 182.7 thousand hectares (73. .5%) and Cherkasy region – 119.2 thousand hectares (71.9%).
Farmers from nine regions completed the sowing of winter rapeseed.
It was earlier reported that farmers are predicting lower yields due to a dry May. After some time, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy improved the forecast for the grain harvest. The forecast describes a grain harvest of about 56 million tons. Of these, wheat – 21 million tons.
