The US and UK are concerned that Russia is sharing classified information and technology with Iran that could bring Tehran closer to developing nuclear weapons.
The deepening of relations between Russia and Iran in various fields affects not only the situation in the Middle East, but also the security situation around the world in general. The cooperation between the two regimes is “incredibly destabilizing in the world.” US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said this in a briefing on Monday, October 7.
He emphasized that Washington is keenly monitoring how relations between Moscow and Tehran will develop.
“Of course, we’re seeing deepening ties between Iran and Russia,” Miller said.
A representative of the American foreign policy department stressed that such engagement “destabilizes the region, unbelievably destabilizes the world.”
“We are talking about any part of the world where Iran and Russia operate,” he said.
Let’s remember that the military cooperation between Moscow and Tehran continues to deepen, and Iran remains the main partner of the Russian Federation in the war in Ukraine. In particular, Iranian drones are being used by the Russians to strike Kyiv and other peaceful cities to terrorize the Ukrainian population.
