In 2024, the Russian dictator held only one meeting in Sochi – on March 6 with the Director General of the IAEA.
Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin has stopped visiting his residence in Sochi, fearing for his life, as facilities there are being attacked by drones. The Russian investigative publication Project reported this on October 7, citing a source.
According to the schedule of public appearances, Putin held only one meeting this year in Sochi – on March 6 with the head of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi. Since that time, Putin has not appeared in the city, although in recent years he spent a significant part of the spring and autumn in Sochi.
Last year, Putin spent less time at the residence of Bocharov Ruchey. Officially, the Russian dictator was only in Sochi for eight days, whereas before the pandemic he stayed there 30 or more days a year.
Putin spent the most time in Sochi in May, and from September to November inclusive.
The interlocutor of the publication, close to the Russian dictator, added that the leader of the Kremlin began to fear for his life and therefore stopped flying south.
Let’s recall that in September-October 2023, Ukrainian drones began to fly over Sochi. In particular, one of the drones fell on the territory of the airport and damaged the helipad.
In September 2023, drone debris fell about 25 km from Putin’s residence in Sochi.
