Ismail Qaani arrived in Beirut after the destruction of the Hezbollah leader. After the attacks at the end of last week, he has been out of touch.
The commander of the Iranian Quds Force, Ismail Qaani, is missing during his trip to Beirut. Reuters reported this on Sunday, October 6.
It was noted that after Israel removed Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah with strikes in Beirut in September, Qaani went to Lebanon. However, he has been out of touch since the strikes late last week, two senior Iranian security officials told the agency.
One of the officials said Qaani was in the southern Beirut suburb known as Dahiyeh at the time of Thursday’s bombing. This attack was reportedly aimed at senior Hezbollah official Hashem Safieddin, but the official claimed that Qaani had not met with Safieddin.
The official added that Iran and Hezbollah had no contact with Qaani after this point.
The second official also said that Qaani traveled to Lebanon after Nasrallah was killed and that Iranian authorities could no longer contact him after the strike on Hezbollah’s next leader, Safieddine.
Hezbollah has not yet commented on the situation with Safieddin.
We remind you that on the night of September 30, the Israeli military launched a ground attack in Lebanon, hitting the southern suburbs of the capital Beirut.
The IDF says it has killed more than 400 Hezbollah fighters
