The Israel Defense Forces announced a new ground operation in the northern Gaza Strip.
On the night of October 6, the 401st and 460th Armored Brigades of the IDF 162nd Division carried out an operation and cordoned off the city of Jabaliya, which is one of the key strongholds of the terrorist group in the north of the enclave. This was reported by The Times of Israel.
During the operation, airstrikes and artillery shelling were carried out on dozens of group targets, including weapons depots and tunnels. Dozens of militants died.
It is noted that the IDF is carrying out the operation against the backdrop of the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas. The Israeli army is now evacuating civilians from northern Gaza, offering safe exit corridors along two routes.
The Israeli command emphasized that the operation will continue until the terrorist infrastructure in the region is completely destroyed.
Let us remind you that The New York Times reported that the President of the United States of America, Joe Biden, refuses Israel to attack Iranian oil facilities. Previously, the IDF announced a response to a massive ballistic strike on Israeli territory on October 1.
