The Israeli military received intelligence about the presence of Hamas and its infrastructure in Jebaliya.
On the night of October 6, the Israel Defense Forces launched a new ground operation against the Hamas group in Jabaliya in the northern Gaza Strip. This was stated in a message from the IDF on Telegram.
“The operation to systematically destroy the terrorist infrastructure in the area will last as long as necessary to achieve its goals,” the Israeli military stressed.
The IDF added that it had previously received intelligence about the presence of Hamas and its infrastructure in Jebaliya and the group’s attempts to regain position in the city.
162 divisions took part in the operation. In particular, its 401st and 460th armored brigades surrounded Jabaliya at night. The Israeli military also launched a series of air and artillery strikes on targets associated with Hamas, including weapons depots, tunnels, and areas where enemy personnel are concentrated.
It will be recalled that on September 30, the Israeli military launched a ground offensive in Lebanon to oust Hezbollah militants.
