“The security service is conducting counterintelligence (security) activities in the territory of the city of Sumy. They are accompanied by the National Police, the military law enforcement service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the National Guard,” the message said. .
It is indicated that the actions of law enforcement officers cover the entire regional center.
“The goal is to prevent and neutralize threats of reconnaissance and explosive activities against our state, prevent provocations and increase the security of citizens in the context of Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine,” the SBU said.
During the event, there may be restrictions on access and travel on the streets, checking citizens’ documents and inspecting vehicles.
“If reasonable suspicions arise about individuals, further verification can be carried out,” the intelligence service explained.
In addition, the territory and common areas are inspected to identify prohibited items.
“The SBU asks citizens to understand the possible inconveniences and respond properly to legal actions and requests by law enforcement officials, to have identification documents with them, and to obey the curfew,” added security service.
