The situation in the Middle East requires a great effort to reduce, emphasized the American leader.
US President Joe Biden said he does not believe the escalation in the Middle East will turn into a major war in the region. This was reported by Reuters on Friday, October 4.
The statement came amid Israeli operations against Hamas in the Gaza Strip, as well as against Hezbollah in Lebanon, amid escalating tensions with Iran.
“How confident are you that it won’t rain, I don’t believe there will be a full-scale war,” Biden said, answering reporters’ questions about the possibility of avoiding a major conflict.
The American president stressed that the situation requires great efforts to reduce, but expressed confidence that a total war can be avoided.
“We have helped Israel. We will defend Israel,” Biden said.
It will be recalled that on October 1, the Israel Defense Forces began a limited ground operation in southern Lebanon. Iran fired 180 ballistic missiles at Israel.
