In Belarus, in Kalinkovichi (Gomel region), today, October 3, a “Shahed” exploded in the morning.
There is no information about casualties. The monitoring group “Belarusian Gayun” reports this in its Telegram channel.
This morning information appeared that at about 5 am residents of Kalinkovichi heard a loud sound of an explosion. Subsequently, this information was confirmed from several sources, and it turned out that the explosion over Kalinkovichi was heard at about 4.55 in the morning, the report says.
It is noted that 12 minutes before the explosion (at 04.43), the @eRadarrua project reported about the Shahed event in the airspace of Belarus and its movement in the direction of Mozyr, which took place east of Narovlya:
- the distance from Narovlya to Kalinkovichi is 40 km, which Shahed can cover in just 11 minutes (average speed – 200 km/h);
- the trajectory and speed of the Shahed indicate that at the moment of the explosion the drone was already over the city;
- at the same time, no Belarusian military aviation was recorded over the Gomel region.
Based on the above, “Belarusian Gayun” concludes that today at 04:55 a “Shahed” type kamikaze drone exploded in Kalinkovichi. It is unknown whether it detonated on its own or was shot down by air defense forces, the monitoring group notes.
The Ministry of Defense or the Ministry of Emergency Affairs of Belarus have not yet commented on this event.
