Belgian journalists were beaten in Beirut, accused of spying for Israel. This was reported by BILD in connection with the Belgian TV channel VTM.
Reporter Robin Ramaekers and cameraman Stein de Smet worked in Beirut and interviewed local residents who witnessed the Israeli attack.
A group of about 20 people accused them of spying for Israel. An angry crowd attacked the journalists – as a result, the Ramaekers received facial fractures, and the cameraman Stein de Smet was injured in the leg.
According to the reporter, the armed men first shot the cameraman’s leg with two bullets, then took him to the basement, where he was severely beaten. After that, the journalists were released. The attackers also broke the nose of one of the assistants of the Belgian film crew.
