Energoatom today, October 1, after scheduled maintenance, successfully connected a power unit of one of its nuclear power plants to the power grid.
This happened 12 days earlier than planned, the press service of Energoatom reports.
Capacity is currently being ramped up. After the unit reaches full capacity, the Ukrainian energy system will be strengthened by 1000 MW.
It is noted that Energoatom plans to reload Ukrainian power units with fresh nuclear fuel by the beginning of the heating season and prepare them for the autumn-winter period.
The repair campaign is entering the home stretch and by the start of the operation, all nine units located in Ukrainian-controlled territory will be ready to operate during the most difficult months,” noted the head of Energoatom, Petr Kotin.
