A preventive measure in the form of a bail in the amount of UAH 1 million was chosen for an official of JSC NAEC Energoatom, who was detained for taking a bribe. The press service of the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office reported this on Saturday, September 28.
It was reported that the prosecutors of the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office, together with the SBU and with the help of the management of JSC NNEGC Energoatom, exposed a 48-year-old company official for receiving 100 thousand hryvnias of illegal benefits.
“According to the investigation, a representative of a private company approached him to ask for help in receiving payment from one of the mining and processing plants included in JSC Energoatom under an agreement that ended in December 2022. The promised officially solve this plant management issue for 100,000 .
It was noted that the detainee was given a preventive measure in the form of bail in the amount of UAH 1 million. The official faces three to eight years in prison with confiscation of assets.
Earlier, Energoatom reported that the SBU had detained the company’s top manager. Since the amount of the bribe was only 100 thousand hryvnia, the case was not transferred to the National Anti-Corruption Bureau.
