According to CNN, the wind speed reached 140 mph (225 km/h), which led to serious consequences.
The Category 4 storm has already caused major power outages and flooding. About 1.1 million customers were left without power in Florida, and more than 121 thousand people were affected in Georgia, North and South Carolina. The restoration of power grids is expected to take several days or even weeks.
