Shortly before arriving in Pennsylvania, Zelensky visited Utah with the Republican governor.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s visit to an arms factory in Pennsylvania, a key election state, was not surprising. This is what White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said in a briefing on Thursday, September 26.
He called on Republicans to drop demands for an investigation into the alleged political visit.
The White House spokesman said that the Ukrainian side requested to visit the plant where the American workers work, and called it a routine request from the Ukrainians during the war.
Jean-Pierre recalled a similar visit by Zelensky two months ago in Utah.
“Just two months ago, President Zelensky visited the state of Utah and held an almost identical event with the Republican governor. Representatives of the Republican Party were present at that event, and no investigation was requested. Therefore, we urge the House Republicans to abandon it,” he said.
We remind you that the United States has launched an investigation into Zelensky’s alleged involvement in interfering in the US elections. This happened after visiting an ammunition plant in Pennsylvania.
The investigation was initiated by a supporter of US presidential candidate Donald Trump, the head of the House Oversight Committee, James Comer.
