The head of a charity organization in Poltava illegally made money from sales of humanitarian vehicles intended for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

    .

The head of the fund brought more than 230 cars as humanitarian aid for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was supposed to give these cars to the military free of charge. However, he began selling automobile equipment for cash to civilians and the military. The attacker did not take into account the ban on the sale of humanitarian aid. The National Police of Ukraine reported this on September 26.

It turned out that several more people were involved in the illegal scheme. The accomplices looked for buyers, prepared the car for sale and handled paperwork. To conceal illegal activities, one of the participants in the fraudulent scheme, at the direction of the head of the fund, sent false reports to the relevant ministry.

During the investigation, it was established that according to this scheme, dealers sold more than 230 cars that were imported into Ukraine as assistance for the Ukrainian Armed Forces and other military formations during martial law. Thus, the attackers “earned” more than 35 million UAH.

The head of the fund was detained while selling another car. He has already been charged with suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 201-2 (illegal use for profit of humanitarian aid, charitable donations or gratuitous assistance) of the Criminal Code. The offender faces up to seven years in prison with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years and with confiscation of property.

Let us remind you that in July the Red Cross Society announced a shortage of humanitarian aid of UAH 3.6 million. The police announced suspicions to the former head of the Pechersk Red Cross organization and one of the volunteers. Law enforcement officers learned that the ex-official had appropriated humanitarian aid: food packages, bed linen, blankets, mattresses, wheel chairs, bandages, rubber gloves and syringes.
