Russia has expanded the list of conditions for the use of nuclear weapons. One of them was a massive UAV attack.
Russian leader Vladimir Putin announced the expansion of the Russian doctrine of nuclear deterrence. The head of the Kremlin announced this at a meeting of the Security Council, RosSMI reported on Wednesday, September 25.
Putin said that in the updated version of the document, “aggression against Russia by any non-nuclear state, but with the participation or support of a nuclear state, is proposed to be considered as their joint attack on the Russian Federation .”
The Kremlin leader expanded the category of states and military alliances against which “nuclear deterrence is carried out.” The document also added a list of military threats to neutralize which nuclear deterrence measures are being used.
At the same time, the basis for a nuclear response would also be considered “a critical threat to the sovereignty of the Russian Federation, even with conventional weapons.”
According to the Russian leader, a nuclear response will follow upon receiving “reliable information about the launch of aerospace attack weapons towards Russia.” These are strategic and tactical aircraft, cruise missiles, drones, hypersonic and other aircraft.
Putin also said that the Russian Federation could use nuclear weapons in conditions of “aggression” against Belarus.
Let’s recall that the previous Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, Sergei Ryabkov, said that Russia will change its nuclear doctrine based on the analysis of military conflicts in recent years and the so-called “increasing course” of the West in relation to the Kremlin’s war against Ukraine.
