The head of state thanked Vietnam for providing $500,000 through international humanitarian organizations and its willingness to participate in the reconstruction of Ukraine after the war.
At a meeting in New York, President Vladimir Zelensky called on Vietnam to join peace initiatives and discussed with the country’s leader To Lam ways to develop economic cooperation. The press service of the President’s Office reported this on Wednesday, September 25.
The Ukrainian head of state said that Ukrainians need the voice of Vietnam to restore a just world.
The main topics of the meeting were the development of bilateral relations and increasing trade turnover, particularly in the agricultural industry.
Lam noted that in 2022 trade turnover in Ukraine decreased, but last year it began to gradually increase again. He invited both states to work on its construction in different areas.
“If the President wants and gives the appropriate force, I think it would be good for our teams and ministries to work together and see what can be done to increase trade turnover between our states,” Zelensky said.
He also invited Vietnam to join the General Communiqué of the Peace Summit, work on the three points of the Peace Formula discussed at the first Summit, and visit Ukraine.
Separately, the head of state thanked Vietnam for providing $500,000 through international humanitarian organizations and its willingness to participate in the restoration of Ukraine after the end of the war.
Let’s recall that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam recently postponed a meeting with the highest officials of the European Union on the issue of Russian sanctions before the possible visit to Hanoi of the Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
In July, Putin visited Vietnam after visiting North Korea.
