At the direction of the occupiers, the defendant had to carry out an air strike on one of the units of his Ukrainian Armed Forces brigade.
A Russian agent is imprisoned in Kharkov. He turned out to be a recently mobilized 45-year-old resident of the city, who was remotely recruited by Russian military intelligence in August of this year. The SBU reports it.
It was noted that, at the direction of the occupiers, the defendant had to correct an air strike on one of the units of his Ukrainian Armed Forces brigade. In return, the Russian intelligence service promised to evacuate the agent to the aggressor country, where he planned to join the enemy’s army and fight in Ukraine.
To direct the fire, the defendant marked the necessary locations on a Google map and sent the corresponding screenshot to his Russian supervisor. The agent also conducted additional reconnaissance near the combat positions of the Ukrainian air defense, which the Russians hoped to bypass during the missile attack.
According to the instructions of the Russian military intelligence, before the enemy attack, the traitor had to reach a certain place on the front line, and the invaders had to create a “corridor” for him to cross the front line.
The SBU acted proactively and detained the defendant at the stage of preparation for “evacuation” to Russia.
During the search, the detainee’s mobile phones, which he used to communicate with the Russian intelligence service, were confiscated.
The accused was informed of the suspicion of treason committed under martial law. The attacker is currently being held without bail. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of assets.
Earlier, a Russian military intelligence agent was detained in Kharkov, directing Russian missile and bomb attacks on the front-line city and adjacent territories.
We remind you that a resident of Zaporozhye, who leaked information to the Russians about the military unit in which he served, was told on suspicion of high treason.
