During martial law, the duration of unemployment benefits cannot exceed 90 calendar days, and for people of pre-retirement age – no more than 360.
In Ukraine, from October 1, the minimum unemployment benefit will increase by 500 Hryvnia – from 2,500 to 3,000 Hryvnia. The corresponding decision is made by the State Employment Center. MP, member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy Nina Yuzhanina announced this on Monday, September 23, on her Telegram channel.
He said that not everyone should expect a promotion. Thus, Yuzhanina noted that it will only apply to people with at least seven months of insurance coverage in the past 12 months, as well as to registered migrants.
“For people with no insurance experience, the benefit amount will remain at 1,500 hryvnias,” he said.
In January, the State Employment Service of Ukraine reported that more than 96 thousand people in the country were unemployed. Last year there were 186,508 such people.
It was previously reported that due to the war, the departure of Ukrainians abroad and internal migration, there is a shortage of personnel and structural unemployment in the state. To ensure annual CIT growth of 7% by 2030, Ukraine needs an additional 4.5 million workers.
Let us remind you that there are more than 111 thousand vacancies in the labor market in Ukraine. This is a record figure since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion. The Ministry of Social Policy advised Ukrainians to “work until the last minute.”
There is a demand for labor in Ukraine, which is why wages are rising
